My name is Amelia Lampard, I am a recent graduate of London College of Fashion: BA Hons Costume for Performace. Over the three years of my studies, I have gained a strong passion for fabric painting and dyeing. This passion has lead all of my projects to have an element of this in order for me to grow and learn this skill in more depth. I have also enjoyed learning and doing fittings, styling my costumes, making alterations and the planning aspect of this. Through university I have strengthened my skills in team collaboration and team leadership, from having multiple projects be collaborations both in and out of university. It has also helped my time management, planning, organisation and text analysis. I will now be outlining my work development in university, those industry professionals that inspire me and map out my future career goals as this statement progresses.

My time at London College of Fashion has taught me a range of skills and techniques, skills such as basic sewing techniques, as well as some specific sewing methods, such as those used to make: corsets, bustles, and tailored 18th century menswear. Then, there are the more practical skills, such as: proper fitting etiquite, proper alteration techniques and stitches, and proper measurement skills, to name a few. Over the four major projects I have made a variety of costumes, from womenswear to traditional menswear (both modern and historical). I have done some sort of dye work in each project, as I think I have basic skills and knowledge of dye work. That is a skill that I would love to develop and learn more about, as it is a skill that I love to do. I have also learned about fabrics and fabric manipulation, with pleats, gathers etc. This would be a skill that I would really enjoy to develop and almost master in my professional career. I would love to develop my sewing skills and get it to a point where it has become flawless in nature each and every time. Since I have always liked the crowd dresser and supervisor roles within costume, I would also like to explore and learn more about the skills needed to be successful within those roles
